Tomatillo Guacamole

Tangy tomatillos add a nice punch to this guacamole recipe. Tomatillos avocados, red onion, roma tomatoes, seasoned with hot pepper sauce, red pepper flakes, salt and fresh ground black pepper.
Ingredients -
 
3 Avocados, peeled, pitted, and mashed
3 Tomatillos, husked and chopped
1 Red Onion, finely chopped
4 Roma (Plum) Tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon Lime Juice
1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
4 drops Hot Pepper Sauce
Salt, to taste
Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste
 
Preparation:
 

1. Combine avocados, tomatillos, roma tomatoes, red onion, and lime juice in a large serving bowl.

2. Stir in hot pepper sauce, red pepper flakes, salt and fresh ground black pepper.

3. Cover salsa and chill well before serving.

Tomatillos
Tomatillos are available in most supermarkets. Tomatillos should be firm to the touch and bright green, husks should be green and appear fresh.

Hot Pepper Sauce

A tiny amount of minced Jalapeno pepper can be substituted for the drops of hot pepper sauce, if desired.
