South of the Border Guacamole

Easy guacamole recipe combines, white onion, serrano chilies, fresh lime juice, cilantro, salt, and diced tomatoes with mashed avocado.
Ingredients -
 
½ cup chopped White Onion
4 (or to taste) Serrano Chilies, chopped
2 tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
¼ Cup chopped Cilantro
1 teaspoon Salt
4 California Avocados
¾ cup Tomato, seeded diced, and well drained
 
Preparation:
 

1. In a small mixing bowl, combine onion, serrano chilies, lime juice, cilantro and salt.

2. In medium serving bowl, coarsely mash avocados with a fork.

3. Fold onion mixture into mashed avocado.

4. Fold in tomato. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or press plastic wrap against surface of guacamole, and refrigerate in airtight container.

Serrano Chilies
Serrano chilies are perfect for this guacamole. Substitute diced jalapeno peppers, if desired.

Fresh Lime Juice
Fresh lime juice will help keep the guacamole from turning brown. If you will not be serving until a later date, carefully follow the storing instructions.
