Basic Guacamole

The simplest of guacamole recipes. Combine 2 ripe avocados with your favorite salsa, some lemon juice to keep the avocados from browning and salt, to taste. Serve as a side dish, or with veggies or chips as an appetizer.
Ingredients -
 
2 medium Ripe Avocados
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 cup Salsa
1/8 teaspoon Salt
 
Preparation:
 

1. Slice avocados lengthwise around pit. Separate sides.

2. Remove pit. Remove peel. Dice avocados.

3. Place avocado in a serving bowl. Mash with fork.

4. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

5. Fold in salsa. Salt, to taste.

6. Place in refrigerator until ready to use.

Avocados are rich source of potassium. A medium avocado has about 300 calories and 30 grams of fat. Choose avocados that are firm but give a little and have a consistent dark green skin color.

If you purchase avocados that aren't yet ripe, you can quicken the process of ripe fruit by placing the avocados in a paper bag and leaving them out in room temperature.
